Raising funds for a permanent memorial to the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer in his home town of Redditch, Worcestershire
Thank you for visiting our website.
The aim of the John Bonham Memorial Fund is to raise an initial £50,000 for the design and installation of a fitting permanent memorial in Redditch town centre, the birthplace of the legendary drummer from Led Zeppelin.
The preferred location for the memorial is on the Church Green, behind St Stephen's church, next to the Bandstand and Bartleet Fountain, on land owned by Redditch Borough Council.
Any additional monies raised will be used to cover future maintenance costs.
"John played the drums like someone who didn't know what was going to happen next - like he was teetering on the edge of a cliff. No one has come close to that since, and I don't think anybody ever will. I think he will forever be the greatest drummer of all time." Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters

WE'VE DONE IT- PLANNING PERMISSION FOR JOHN'S MEMORIAL SECURED!
On Wednesday evening 11th October, Redditch Borough Council's Planning Committee granted planning permission to install a bronze memorial to John on Mercian Square in the heart of the town centre. It's taken us over 4 years to get to this point and we are over the moon.
We have the money for the sculpture itself and our sculptor, internationally renowned artist Mark Richards, has begun work already to ensure we have the memorial in place forJohn's 70th Birthday year. Further info to follow.
Thank you all for your support.
